Maths Operations and Inverse Operations

The Four Basic Maths Operations			Inverse Operations
Addition	Addition is commutative the order does not matter 2 + 3 = 5 and 3 + 2 = 5	Result = Sum	Inverse of + is -	6 + 4 = 10 10 - 4 = 6
Subtraction	The order does matter 5 - 3 = 2 but 3 - 5 = -2		Inverse of - is +	8 - 3 = 5 5 + 3 = 8
Multiplication	Multiplication is commutative the order does not matter 4 x 5 = 20 and 5 x 4 = 20	Result = Product	Inverse of x is /	3 x 2 = 6 6 / 2 = 3
Division	The order does matter 10 / 2 = 5 but 2 / 10 = 1 / 5		Inverse of / is x	12 / 4 = 3 3 x 4 = 12
