In maths, what does the word sum mean?
Sum is the name for the answer when we add.

What is the sum of 2 and 3?
The sum of 2 and 3 is 5 because 2 + 3 = 5

Is the answer still called the sum if we add three numbers?
Yes. The sum of 1, 2 and 3 is 6 because 1 + 2 + 3 = 6

Is the answer still called the sum if we add lots of numbers?
Yes. We can add as many numbers as we like and the answer is still called the sum.
