The Completed Square Form

Completed Square Form Of A Quadratic Function

y = (x - p)2 + q

Which could be written as

y = (x - horizontal coordinate of vertex)2 + vertical coordinate of vertex

Which could be shortened to

y = (x - h)2 + v

Where
h = the horizontal coordinate of the vertex
v = the vertical coordinate of the vertex
x = h is the line of symmetry
