These papers were not written solely to assess the understanding
of vocabulary
but each book starts with a page
of Key Words
and the first time that one of these words
is used in the book it is printed in bold.
It might be decided to start with a book one or two years
below the actual age of a child.
Note that these books are considered by the publishers to be reasonably challenging
for the age stated on the book.
